10 Things to include in your Wedding Details Card

Hi everyone, welcome to my first blog post!

It's really important that you inform your guests of all the details of your big day. There's plenty to think about when planning a wedding and it's easy to miss something so here are my top 10 things to include to ensure your wedding day goes without a hitch!

  1. Firstly, you will need to add the full address of your venue so your guests know exactly where to come! Don't forget to include an address for both your ceremony and reception if they are in separate places.

  2. Directions might be helpful if your venue is in an obscure place. For example, the postcode may not be enough if your venue is in the middle of a country estate or the middle of a field and you don't want anyone getting lost on the day!

  3. Make sure you provide your guests with accommodation details from your venue, if they offer it, or a list of local hotels that may be nearby. It's a good idea to provide a variety of options in a variety of price ranges.

  4. Giving the names and numbers of local taxi companies might be useful for your guests if they are not familiar with the area.

  5. A timeline of the day is probably the most important one! Specifically, you will need to tell your guests when to arrive so that they don't miss the ceremony and you’ll need to include a ‘carriages’ time of when the venue closes.

  6. A dress code may not be a priority for everyone, but in case you have a specific venue that requires formal attire or if you need guests to wear warm clothes for a winter wedding, or suitable footwear for an outdoor wedding, then make sure you include this in the details card as well.

  7. A popular gift wish for couples is to ask for contributions towards their honeymoon after the big day and a really fun way of explaining this is with a cute poem or limerick. There are tons of really nice ones on the internet, or if you are creative enough, why not make up your own!

  8. It's always a tricky subject if you are going to include or exclude children from your wedding but make sure you add this in the details card so that everyone is aware from the start and people can make appropriate arrangements.

  9. Don't forget to tell your guests if they are allowed to invite plus ones.

  10. There are no ‘rules’ when it comes to your wedding invites. You can add as many or as little of the above suggestions as you want, but I hope this list helps you in some way! And, if you have any other specific requests that I haven't mentioned then don't forget to add them!

Happy wedding planning!
